Your spiritual path should lead you to your higher self, your soul purpose and the opening of all of your gifts for this life. Finding the right path for who you are becoming can be exhilarating when the connection is made or frustrating when yet another choice disappoints you. It brings me a lot of joy to write of a path for your consideration that is practical and magical, simple but profound, and self-directed yet fully supported. This path uses your life as the teacher and school to guide you to higher consciousness. My journey to share this path with you began in a remote village high in the Peruvian Andes.
In the Andes, the legends and prophecies of the last of the Incas, the Q’ero Indians, bring the present into perspective. They speak of three worlds, the Kaypacha (this reality), the Ukhupacha (the dark interior world of shadow), and the Hanaqpacha (the world of higher consciousness). Legend has it that Inkari, the son of the sun, created the Kaypacha by bringing the light of the sun (consciousness) into the darkness of the Naupamachu (the dark world preceding the light or the unconscious). At that time, the beings inhabiting the Naupamachu, who were called the Naupa, chose to crawl between the cracks and crevices of the rocks to inhabit the interior world of shadow. Thus the conscious and the unconscious worlds were created. It is said that the Kaypacha was created for a limited time only.
The 500-year old prophecies of the Incas are now coming to pass. The end of this reality is at hand. The legend of Inkari points to this time as the end of the Kaypacha – the end of time as we know it. Many people following their spiritual paths are now focused upon “the shift”, generally thought to be associated with the end of the Mayan calendar cycle in 2012. Because I am often asked what I think will happen to time and humanity when “the shift” happens, I feel blessed to have the Q’ero legends and prophecies to help explain a possible future. Of course, it must be noted that possible futures depend upon our actions in the present.
To understand the prophecies, we need to understand the three worlds of the Incas in the language of our culture. The Kaypacha is this reality, our everyday world. It obeys the laws of physics. It is manifested within the frequencies of the visible spectrum of light (red to violet) and it is bound by both time and space. It is the reality of our conscious world. It is called third dimension.
The Ukhupacha, the dark interior world of shadows, is our thought field. Because its frequency exceeds that of the visible spectrum of light it is invisible to us in third dimension and our notion of space no longer applies there. It is also called fourth dimension. It is largely unconscious. It is from this thought field of fourth dimension that the third dimension is projected – what we think is what we create in this reality. Within fourth dimension, there are three levels (or frequencies) of the unconscious from which to project this reality. They exist at increasingly higher frequencies. Not only do they exist within our personal field of consciousness, they exist on the collective level of consciousness – the collective unconscious.
The first frequency of the thought field is emotional. It is where we store the emotionally charged events of our life. On the collective level, all of the experiences of humanity’s long history are stored in the emotional level of the thought field. For both the individual and the collective, the stored memory frames our unconscious behavior patterns. The typical reality created from this level of the thought field is emotionally based drama as well as depression, which is fixated on the past.
The second frequency of thought field is intellectual. It is where we store the information of a lifetime but also the judgments, opinions, criticisms and negative thought programs that steer guide our mental operations in third dimension. The collective intellectual thought field turns all of the intellectual history of mankind into myth and archetype, both of which influence our thinking in the here and now. It is from this level of thought field that we create realities like obsessive thinking, internal dialogue as well as anxiety, which is fixated upon the future.
These two level of the thought field comprise the lower astral in the eastern traditional teaching. Life bound to the lower astral is karmic and cyclical in nature – we are bound to the cycles of karma and reincarnation. This is what the Incas called the Ukhupacha. It speaks to an unconscious life. We incarnate from the fourth dimension into the third at the frequency of our soul consciousness prior to incarnation. We die into the fourth dimension, with or without making frequency gains in this life. That is dependent upon how much of our own Ukhupacha we have mastered.
Everyone on a spiritual path wants to make those frequency gains. We call the gaining of frequency an ascension process or activation our light bodies (gaining of light/frequency). If we are here to master the lower astral part of the fourth dimension (the only way to ascend beyond the cycles of karma), we must free ourselves of the charged emotional memory in the emotional part of the thought field and the programming, judgment, and opinion in the intellectual part of the field. Woven into those layers of our field are the patterns of addiction, negative survival loops and limited beliefs that hold us back.
Mastering our thought field makes common sense and yet, in all of my searching, the only place I found tools to do that clearing was in the shamanic world. Because the shaman traditionally navigates between the collective and personal third and fourth dimensions, those who are called to be shamans must have a crystal clear thought field themselves. Anything less compromises their abilities, integrity and authenticity.
How does all of this relate to “the shift”s already upon us? The Kaypacha and the Ukhupacha are collapsing into each other. We can no longer live unconscious lives. We must live in the present moment. The mandate to clear our lower astral thought field is before us. There is no other way to gain the Hanaqpacha, the world of higher consciousness that is coming. It is time to do our work. Worrying about events that might unfold in 2012 is not present moment. The “the shift” is already happening. We are in the process. Showing up is present moment. We just need to tune into and get clear. This long awaited evolution in human consciousness is an opportunity for unprecedented soul growth – a real call to ascension – and we are already engaged in it. Each one of us who makes the journey to the Hanaqpacha in this life or in our death creates a space for many to follow.
So what exactly is the Hanaqpacha? Is it fifth dimension? For me, it doesn’t make sense that it is fifth dimension. The prophecies say that the Hanaqpacha has no past and it has no future. That tells us that it is beyond the emotional thought field (the past) and the intellectual thought field (the future). What lies beyond the mastery of those two fields of the lower astral? There is a third layer of the thought field that is fully conscious. It is called the spiritual or the upper astral field. It transcends the cycles of karma and exists fully in the present, which requires the collapse of time as we know it. It was the world of indigenous cultures around the world prior to internal and external conflict and conquest. One example would be the Australian Aboriginal Dreamtime. It is far from the culture we live in now.
The upper astral is an enormous first ascension step for us. It opens us to the gifts our soul has hidden there for the time of our awakening. It is the home of truth and wisdom, our higher self and the frequency of soul connection. Thus it is the consciousness of soul purpose, that connection to personal and planetary mission. It begins the journey of compassion that precedes the fifth dimension.
When I first began to walk this path, a wise friend counseled: “What? You think you are going to ascend to fifth dimension without mastering fourth? Think again.” I did think again and immediately “got real” with my spiritual journey. The upper astral is still fourth dimension and that is an important feature to understand. Our reality is not going to suddenly disappear because it will still be projected from the fourth dimension, the highest frequency of fourth dimension at that. However, there will be a wobble in time for those able to make that transcendent step. The past and present will fall away. Those unable to live in the present moment will likely find it very difficult to cope with this new reality. To negotiate it with ease and grace, we had best get our consciousness there ahead of time.
The reality of fifth dimension is that it is not a projection of fourth dimension. The reality it is projected from is unknown to us at present. Of this we can be sure, it will not be linear with any measure of time or space. To enter the upper astral, we must die to the culture, to be “in” it not “of” it. To enter the fifth dimension, we must die to ourselves. At present, this rather astounding ascension step might best be taken in death.
If you feel called to experience higher consciousness, the Hanaqpacha, I would be honored to help facilitate your quest to master the lower astral and beyond. We can find great strength and lasting friendship in a like-minded circle of seekers. Alternatively, my published program of self-mastery can guide you from your kitchen table. Jessie Ayani
