Heart of the Sun A Revolution In Human Consciousness

A Revolution in Human Consciousness

By Jessie Ayani PhD

We find ourselves at a significant crossroads in human history. It may, in fact, be the ultimate crossroads as many futurists proclaim that we are on the verge of extinction as a species. As a scientist, I cannot disagree with that possibility. Humanity, if it stays the present course of extreme imbalance, is rapidly running out of options. As one of many humans deeply committed to the evolution of human consciousness, I cannot say that human extinction saddens me. Rather, it seems the inevitable end of an unconscious and narcissistic eon. This end, with ample warnings to avoid it, has been predicted by most indigenous cultures on the planet, but few have seen what, if anything lives beyond it. Are we to grieve or rejoice?

Within this seemingly tragic end, there will be the opportunity for the natural rebalancing and restoration of Mother Earth and her adaptable species but also, I believe, a moment of grace in which to birth a transcendent human. It seems a wild adventure to engage – akin to the sorcerer’s/shaman’s leap into the unknown – and it is not without risk but let’s face it, quantum leap evolution does not happen without revolution. Even as high levels of cultural complacency amidst an atmosphere of violence and fear threaten the very best of human achievements, an exhilarating undercurrent of this progressive revolution is clearly present and growing.

What is driving the grassroots progressive movements in politics, economics, science, the environment, human rights, literature, philosophy, and spirituality? In their most highly evolved forms the progressive movements are based upon the belief in an inclusive world, a global community – an absolute democracy that has yet to be experienced in the current eon of our history. It is palpable – in the air, and yet it seems so far from our present cultural reality. Are we idealistic dreamers? I hope so. That is how revolutions start. How they are won is through the embodiment of those dreams. If we want peace in this world, we must become peace. That means having peaceful thoughts, actions, emotions, feelings, energy right on down to the secretion of peaceful neuropeptides (modulators of our inner feelings) into our intracellular fluid. That is peace.

In true progressive spirituality those at the leading edge are able to embody the ideals they represent. They have broken free of the status quo and have even moved beyond the groundswell of increasingly popular spiritual teaching where success is still measured by the cultural parameters of wealth and position. How have they been able to do this? Like all good revolutionaries, they have put the cause before themselves. What it takes to be able to do that is self-mastery – the healing and awakening of the multi-dimensional self – a process that expands consciousness and results in wholeness. Self-mastery opens the door to serving others and the planet because the mastered self (higher self) serves the soul’s calling. Soul purpose is most often part of a greater mission, which is a group soul initiative.

It is not always easy work to master our lives, but from the prospective of the world we might be able to create in that mastery, what else have we to do of greater importance? Fortunately we needn’t stop the world to go off to a mystery school to become a master of self. The world is our school. The lessons appear at every turn of the road. We are on the path of greater awareness every day with each observation and correction we make in our lives. The benefits far outweigh the effort as our lives become lighter, happier and more meaningful.

Potentially, we are wired for transcendence at the same time we are mired in the status quo. Lifting ourselves out of the complacency of the status quo, trusting that we are meant to evolve, is the critical first leap of consciousness in progressive spirituality. This first revolutionary step requires that we never give our power away again. That power becomes the source of the strength that anchors us at the leading edge of the human consciousness revolution. Maintaining ourselves at the leading edge is no guarantee that the human species will make a quantum evolutionary leap, but it certainly increases the probability. At the same time it may provide an unobstructed view of potential futures. Why would we not want to be there?

A Shaman’s Perspective

I am grateful for the time I was able to spend with the Q’ero elders in the high Andes of Peru. I was given many opportunities to be with them and hike to their high altitude villages over 12 years – long enough for me to watch our culture overtake theirs in predictable, painful, but undeniably timely ways. I learned not to grieve about it or judge it but, as a consequence, have not been motivated to return there either. My beloved teacher saw that coming and prepared me. We will never be disconnected at the level of energy. What I gained from the experience was largely energetic and intangible (a kind of spiritual glue that holds me together) but there were legends and prophecies I have held in my heart for safekeeping as well.

As I began writing this article I was overtaken with a sense of urgency. That feeling has been weaving its way between the lines creating a space for the sharing of something important to our potential survival on Mother Earth. One of the Q’ero legends states that this reality was created for a limited time only. It co-exists (is actually projected from) its mirror, the thought field or fourth dimension. Their prophecies state that we are fast approaching the end of time as we have known it. That ending presents those prepared with the opportunity to enter higher consciousness as the third and fourth dimensions collapse.

Thus, it is amazing, and not a little unnerving, to bear witness to what looks like an energetic rupture in the collective thought field. Related meltdowns are happening with alarming regularity on an individual level. Bodies, minds and spirits are struggling as the two realities merge at the same time the coming reality steadily presses itself upon us. The overriding and ever-increasing collective dumping of the human psyche into this reality is, as far as I know, unprecedented in human history. Our tidy little lives in the third dimension are being encroached upon by the thought field itself. It is unrelenting, oppressive, distracting, violent, overwhelming, mind-boggling, stressful, and dysfunctional to the extreme – all we would expect of the collective unconscious and, as luck would have it, the precise elements needed to incite a revolution.

This is undoubtedly what was predicted as the “end of time” – the collapse of linear time. It is also what happens at the moment of death for humans bound to this level of consciousness. To me, this “end of time” feels like the outdated, over-rated, old humanity experiencing its own death. It looks like the end of a long human experiment, another evolutionary dead end in this limited reality. The prophecies are coming to pass.

Within that collapse there will be a portal of transcendence readily accessible to those who have embodied higher consciousness. It will be an ascension step akin to a conscious death. I am hoping that our grass roots revolution attracts enough attention to jolt every soul that every dreamed of a heaven on earth. Do not be deceived into imagining that it will be a lonely road either. Revolutions bring out the best in most of us. There’s already an excited crowd gathering out on the edge and you’re invited.
